After going to the Taman Tasik Perdana for the photoshoot. I went to 1Utama Shoppping Centre for lunch, with Raymond. While waiting for him I happen to stumble upon the Tamiya Asia Cup 2008.

I was walking along and I saw a lot of people sitting at long tables with a lot of electonics on the table. The first thing that came to my mind was, factory producing something or a competition of some kind. Walking closer I saw that they were all working on RC vehicles. Interesting, I figured it was some kind of demostration, walking further down, I saw the track and I realised that it was a competition.

The above images shows the work area of all the participants. What was amaizing was the teams came from all over ASIA. Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and a few other countries.

Spent about 2 hours there and then went for a movie and went back home (hotel) to rest for another long day the next day.

More photos from the event can be found at the gallery.

backlogblog

Right, so two weeks later I'm blogging about what happened two weeks ago.

So in the morning of 6th Sept 2008, I woke up bright and early to meet up with d3vilsim.Then we headed to Taman Tasik Perdana. It was really a big group of photographers at the event organized by QiQi. Thanks to her, I had my first experience with paid models. The creativity amongst the photographers there were amazing, of course some results didn't turn out as expected but still you have to give them props for trying.

We arrived slightly late than the appointed time cos yours truely was late at arriving at the meeting point. As we got out of the car, we see people clicking away already, so without much waiting around we also started clicking.

Shirley

Out of the 4 gals there that day, I took her(Shirley) picture most. As she was attentive to all photographers. One of the easiest to shoot. I probably have out of hundred percent maybe fifty percent was of her.

Cammy

Cammy was really cute gal, but during that time I was finding it hard to get good exposure of her. I would not dail in the correct settings. So either the flash was too strong, or too low, or the metering was wrong. When I got the results I wanted I was already shooting the other gals. I have to do better.

Velva

Velva, she has beautiful eyes, and very accomodating. Didn't shoot much of her in her 1st dress, more on the 2nd. As 1st round there were too many photographers. I could not squeeze in. If you dont believe the amount of photographers there, check out the group hug at the end of this post.

Chantelle

But amongst the four, I shot her the least, as she was really popular and I had no chance! haha, out of 400 images captured that day, I had less than 30 of hers and of that even less is acceptable. Sigh, must do better! No excuses!

Over all it was a fun experience for me. First time in a foreign place. If got opportunity, have to join more of this outings. Definitely helps to see and experience what the others do to get good shots.

The gal in orange is QiQi, the organizer.

back home again, again!

Ah... Back home. Just arrived in Kuching, taking the flight AK5124 which was not late, and landed 18 mins earlier than scheduled time. It was quite a hectic weekend for me. I was suppose to go on a personal trip to KL. But in the end my boss said the clients wanted to do a meeting, therefore I ended up extending my trip there (was suppose to come back yesterday night).

So I left for Kuala Lumpur on friday as indicated in my previous post. So on saturday I woke up around 7.00am and called for taxi around 7.30am. Then I met up with d3vilsim at McDonalds at the Curve. Had an early McBreakfast and left for Lake Garden / Taman Tasik Perdana. Finished the photoshooting event by around 11.30am. Then d3vilsim dropped me to 1Utama. I walked around waiting for Raymond to come join me. And I found the Tamiya Asia Cup 2008 challenge event there. Then when Raymond arrived, we went for lunch and then we went to catch a Singaporean movie "Money not enough 2". I would rate the movie 3.4 of 5 points, 5 being the best and 1 being worse.

After the movie, we headed off to The Curve, to meet up with Surgeus at The Apartment. Then to McDonalds at Cineleisure for dinner. And I bought a 320GB Maxtor Basic Portable Storage for about RM300 plus. So after that, went back to Siaw Pao's house, and zzzzz....

Sunday morning woke up again early was out the door by 8.00am. Kenneth came by and picked me up, we headed to McDonalds drive thru and bought some breakfast meals and headed out to Sepang Circuit. We were there the whole day, and the event ended at 5.00pm or so, by the time everything was packed up we left by around 7.00pm. Then went back to YS's workshop and then off to dinner.

By the time I reached Siaw Pao's appartment was already 11.00pm. Then I packed my bags and Dave sent me to Eastin Hotel. I will break down the individual days as I have some photos to share. Or else this would be a really really really really long post.

That's all for now.
