Blood!

Two days ago I was sanding down some parts for my car and my hand slipped.

Sony DSC-T90

Last time when I cut myself I immediately clean it and then wrap it up. These days, as with everyone else, we take pictures! =.=

Then yesterday when I was getting ready to post the photo above, I got bitten by a mosquito. Again, I take photos ^__^

Literary can see the abdomen of the mosquito expand with my blood!

After donating my blood, its time for it to be my "model"

Minolta X-700

Since I'm still holding Foosi's macro lens hostage I might as well make good use of it!

X-700

Before it ges confusing, the photos was shot using my Nikon D300 and colors were modified in Adobe Lightroom.

Dirty mirrorfocus again! Well the Minolta X-700 has been in my family for over a decade now. I have only used it a few times to take photos. Its more like a toy to me rather than a camera. Until today its a prop rather than being used to take photos haha. Maybe one of these days I should get it cleaned and load a roll of film into it and see what comes out the other side?

Ray-Ban Tech - Carbon Fibre Collection

I have no idea whats the deal with carbon fibre. When I see carbon fibre I get excited, in a good way. No dirty thoughts please. Its the materials which is used in reducing the weight of high performance vehicles without much lost of strength and rigidity.

When I saw the series launched, I was hooked. I was in the market for a new pair of shades, as my Oakleys were peeling and the rubbers expanding due to the sweat and grime.

I purchased this about three months ago when I was in Sabah. Saw it at a few locations with different models and varying prices. On the last day, I could not stand it so I slide the card.

After that its pretty much been sitting in my car un-used, as I seldom drive my Celica. I have also been meaning to get some photos of it but could not get anyone to lend me a macro lens until recently, thanks FOOSI

Actually the box and the case itself is more beautiful compared to the shades themselves hahaha!

Finally the case is reinforced. My previous pair of Ray-Ban broke as the case was soft case.

Another thing I found out about product photography was that you really got to keep the subjects clean. I wiped the box clean twice, after visually inspecting them, and proceeded to take capture the images, only to find out that it was not as clean as I have expected. Time to invest in a pair of gloves, and a torch light.

Love the patterned micro fibre that mimics carbon fibre material.

The shape looks very similar to my previous one, only that the frame is different. I had the polarized lens as well.

Lets get some close up shots~ =)

Lets hope that this pair will last me a while. I have gone thru a pair of Ray-Ban and Oakleys in the past 3.5 years.

DIY Macro Lens

I found this on youtube.com and I still can not believe someone would really do it. I definately don't want to try it but maybe you would like to give it a go ?

Anyone willing to try it on their 18-55 lens ?

Few things amazing about this hack/ DIY

  1. Aperture control was still maintained, by moving the contacts from the back to the front.
  2. He modded the EFS lens mount to EF mount
  3. The close up video shots was gorgeous, probably on another Canon body
  4. The soundtrack was awesome, suit the video.
  5. Nice video editing
