Ducati Multistrada Borneo Experience (Kuching) Actual

So the previous posting was more like a preview and this post was about the actual flag off event at Merdeka Palace on 26/11/2011.
I reached the venue around 8am. Many local bikers were already gathering (some say 40 some say 50 local bikers) around to support the Ducati Multistrada Borneo Experience event.

All kinds of bikes were there.

Ducati Multistrada surrounded =)

Some cruisers..

Police bike surrounded :)

Whops. blur photo!

Datuk SM Zulkifli SM Amin who is NAZA Group of Companies Group Chief Operating Officer giving his speech.

I didnt catch his name, but I think he is from Ducati.

Minister of Tourism Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg with his speech.

Crowded group photo.

Police stopping traffic while everyone gets in line.

Suddenly my angle was blocked by reporters ~_~' sad.

Change angle... what to do...

Big bikes going all the way to the end. Awesome!

I love this shot. Heh! I tried to get the reflection on the mirror to show his helmet.. almost made it!

Check out this video created by my friend a photo enthusiast.

It was a cool event, too bad was not able to join the whole convoy. For more details on the event. Head to http://www.smf.net.my/. Hopefully they enjoyed their trip here, and more events like this come our way =)

Ducati Multistrada Borneo Experience (Kuching)

The actual event started on Satuday (26th November), but the Ducati Multistrada's were already arriving on 24/25th.

I have heard about the event from Dennis (an avid biker) then Sherrie tagged me shared link on my facebook page. And I contacted Chloe who had more details about the event. After which I finished by stuff for the day and went to see the bikes before going to the ICT fair, which also started that day. Below are some photos which I took that afternoon.

The escort cars.

Single swingarm

The bike was bigger than I anticipated.

This seems to be an another model from Ducati.

Is it me or does the bike look like a kind of bird with beaks?

High tech!

So after taking a few snaps, I paid my RM 4.00 parking (at Merdeka Palace Hotel) and headed to BCCK for the ICT Fair. Got me a 16GB USB3.0 thumb drive for RM 67.00.

In the evening, I went to pick up Sherrie, who incidentally stays nearby my house. I got lost going to her house. Then got lost again when heading towards the Astana. Traffic was slow and in the end we got there late. =.=

Below are some of my photos from the Astana, where dinner was hosted by our Yang di-Pertua of Sarawak, Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Muhammad Salahuddin

After the makan makan session, came the photo taking session :)

The head lights profile is very VERY nice! Wished I had more time to capture it.

Moving off to another part of the Astana for a photo session.

Hmmm orange? Its due to the yellow cast by the ambient light. When I did the standard color correct it become orange hehe !

Yup, color correction got the building white but the left bit of the photos become too "cold".  heh~

One of the bikers showing Sherrie the meter cluster. =)

Cool stuff!

Video interview

Mingle around for a bit before leaving.

Shot this from my car. When we left, the bikers also decided to leave.

Even police also was driving a Ducati Multistrada ^_^ wow.

We all turned in early as the next morning the actual flag off event was around 8am.

For more information & details on the event head to http://www.smf.net.my/ and don't forget the ongoing contest for RM 500 worth of Ducati mer chandise, will end on 9th Dec 2011.

Experience Borneo with Ducati Multistrada 1200

Its pretty rare for large motorcycle companies to do large scale events in our State. Even rarer when its from Ducati. And when you think of Ducati, you think performance bikes. I'm not really familiar with bikes but I think the Ducati Multistrada is one of the latest SuperBike, SuperSports and a SportsTourer all rolled into ONE bike while looking good. \o/

Then to Sibu, Miri, Brunei, Labuan and finally hitting Kota Kinabalu(Sabah). And at every stop, they will be hitting the local hot spots (Tourism & Cultural). Miss Borneo Beautiful at the Club Lobby Lounge

Was invited to go over to see the preview of the Miss Borneo Beautiful talent show last night at the Club Lobby Lounge. The Grand Final Show will be held at Riverside Majestic Hotel on 18th November. So if you want to go give your support to the lovely ladies you know where to go. I'm not sure about ticket details but I'm sure its been sold out, you can try contact the organisers at their official website

The color of the photos gets better as it was quite challenging earlier on. :P

I went to the event without much expectations as, I didnt really know what to expect from a talent show. Some were way better than others tho. Definately entertaining. At the end of the show, apparently it was Miss Shayndee Dunstan's (I hope I got the name right) birthday.

Two candles...

I think she was a bit touched by the organisers =)

Rivals Friends wishing her well

Interesting group shot, please ignore the flash sticking out from the bottom of the frame =.=

I wish the girls all the best tomorrow :)
