SSPCA Christmas Charity Bazaar (Actual)

heh~ So the ACTUAL SSPCA Christmas Charity Bazaar which I posted about happended yesterday. I went around 1130 am. And was pleasently surprised to find that it was buzzing with people from all walks of life.

I also met a few friends there. Saw many booths selling many items from handicraft to food to used items etc etc.

The air conditioning was on at full blast! Thank goodness :)

Tables and chairs were set up for people who want to have a rest or eat or drink.

Pet food for sell next to toys and biscuits.

And what Charity event could go with out face painting xD

I didnt even know Kuching got so many clowns :)

Everyones waiting for the baloons to pop, hehe!

Whats that bottles there. Mmmmm looks like home brewed tuak (rice wine)~ kehkehkeh!

Now lets not forget why or whats the Christmas Charity Bazaar is all about. Its to help these poor animals. To provide shelter, food, care and medical aids.

There are many out there who like to buy imported breeds of cats and dogs. Why not give our local canine and felines a chance as well ?

Yes, a local cat, looking good there. All it needs now is a loving family and a nice home.

Cats not your fancy? How about a cute puppy?

This is an adorable fellow, I think its feet were not on the ground much the whole day. Got lots of loving yesterday.

Hi! ^_^

Cute paws

Happy dog

I would say these cats and dogs are considered lucky to have so many people caring for them. But the SSPCA is over worked, under funded and stretched to the max. They need more of everything. If you would like to help out or find out more information please go to http://www.sspca.sarawak.com.my/

SSPCA Christmas Charity Bazaar

Christmas is coming! Lets all be jolly and merry but let us try not to forget those unfortunate pets left behind by unfortunate circumstances. For those who are in town on 3rd December, make sure you drop by the Ecumenical Centre, Jalan Stampin.

The Christmas Charity Bazaar is SSPCA's main fund raising event for the year. While fund raising is a constant and on going event. SSPCA hopes to raise about RM 100,000 for the shelter. Wah! Thats a lot of money right? Operating the shelter is not cheap. Its monthly operating cost is averaging at RM 25,000 per month. So if they manage to raise RM 100,000. It will last them about 4-5 months. So let all make an effort to give a bit of our time to visit the Charity Bazaar and spend some money.

100% of the sales will go to the shelter.

Those who wish to volunteer to help out during the event can contact SSPCA through their website at www.sspca.sarawak.com.my, email them at sarawakspca@gmail.com or get in touch through Facebook.

Sales of the coupons will be available on location. I was told there will be about 40 stalls. Hilton, Grand Margherita, the Junk, and more will be selling their food items at the venue as well. So if your looking for 2nd hand item or looking for a good meal, do not give the event a miss. Make sure you bring your friends and family there as well.

If you have no idea where the location is, check out the awesome map below!

Remember, 3rd December, Ecumenical Centre, Jalan Stampin from 11am to 7pm!

Lets give the furry friend's some help. And wish them a merry christmas !

Cats or Dogs?

Which would you fancy as pets? I went to the adopt a pet drive at Green Heights last Sunday morning. There were about 15 cats and dogs there that day for adoption.

Often many fail to remember that pets are living creatures which requires attention & nurturing like us human beings. In the beginning they find it fun and exciting but after a while it becomes a chore to upkeep the pets, mentally and physically. =(

If I'm not mistaken all the cats and dogs at the drive was all local breed. Nothing fancy, or award winning bloodlines here.

I wish I can have a pet, maybe a dog. I like dogs, and cats, but I still prefer dogs. :) But my area has a lot of strays which my neighbor keeps. That is a story for another time, for now lets focus on the adorables for adoption.

I love the photo above. Adorable.

Cat with scary eyes! When the pupils dilate it almost looks like human eyes. It's alive.

Puppies are so excited about everything. So curious, so innocent.

They say, pets are good therapy for our soul.

Yet they are so many of them which are abandoned, neglected and some abused.

I'm glad I have friends who take the time and effort to help out with SSPCA from their busy schedule.

There is a difference between thinking about doing something and actually going out there and do something about it.

Would you like to give a helping hand to the cats and dogs at SSPCA? How about giving them a home ? There will be another adoption drive happening this Sunday at 10am at Boulevard Shopping Mall

Or would you like to volunteer or donate money? You can find more information at http://www.sspca.sarawak.com.my/

Hope to see you all there~
