SuperGT Round 3 - Pt One
Yeah I know it has past a while now. And I've even made another trip up to KL already. But this is my modus operandi... I blog when I can and when I feel like I can :) there is no urgent need to post NOW posts.... So here goes...
I have never been to SuperGT before. Since I managed to buy decently priced air tickets from Malindo Air, I flew over and then next thing I knew I was helping my friend to cover the event. Burning my SuperGT tickets (well worth the experience). Thanks Ian.
Unless your rich or working with a multinational, or the press these areas are mostly restricted. I had access to the media room, pit walk, and the track side. And the starting grid. It was a two day event. On the first day we had to cover the launch of the Subaru BRZ (finally) in Malaysia.
For day one, there actually isn't much action. Practice laps, cannot access, so everyone is going around shooting a bit of cars, and mostly show girls. Here are a few of my fav images.
Besides the pit-walk, another interesting area is actually when you enter the event via the main gates. But I entered via the media area so I had to make my way out there. And there is where all the car launches were at. The BRZ and the Nismo Almera. There were a lot of vendor and a lot of cars on display. Of course there is also a lot of show girls there too. Girls, cars, and photographers. These three are linked!
I didnt shoot much of the area because there were just too many people hahaha and I wanted to shoot more on the track... cant wait for second day... so back to the Media Center we go
After that I met up with a few friends who were doing time attack at the car park and joined them for dinner. Then slept like a log. Stay tuned for part two.
