I have been to Sepang International Circuit (SIC) for a few times, but never actually went inside. And when every time there was an event and I was in town I was not able to make it.
I cut short my Penang trip (initially planning to stay about 3 days longer) and went to Kuala Lumpur earlier, as my friend was working on the then new Toyota GT86 and Camry launch. The launch was 2 days (+1 day preparation), I was there documenting behind the scenes of the preparation and get a first look at the new cars.
So this was my second stop after Penang, before Tokyo, Japan.
These shots are from the first day, where there were no media, and my friend was working on who goes where and who does what. LOL. Must have been really stressful. Glad I was able to help out in documenting the process.
When we arrived there was an event which was wrapping up. There were a lot of super sports bikes. zipping by making a lot of fantastic sounds.
So I was there for the whole after noon till after midnight. And then again for the next day, thats how hardworking these guys were preparing for the launching. I'll post the 86 & Camry shots in the next post or else there would be just too many photos.
It was an awesome opportunity for me to walk around SIC (parts of it). What even more so, with a launching of a car that will replace the AE86.
Also looking at how my friends work, really gives a new perspective for me on those working on events. Especially launches. So many things to coordinate, so many details to handle.
