Shibuya, Land of interesting and coolness
So actually I have a lot of photos and I was undecided, either to post them here for just dump them in facebook. I think I have well over 100+ photos from day 1. So we shall see, I'll try to get thru as much as possible, or till a time where I think its best to split it into two or three parts.
Ehem. Since it was rainy all my photos try to minic that gloomy look and there will be a lot of cars and bike shots, but of course right? Im a guy after all. Maybe some random girl pictures too. :)
After having our breakfast we headed out to SHIBUYA, it was a gloomy and wet day. Oh well, could be worse right? So everyone had to bring umbrellas.
Not much to see in the shopping malls. Just a lot of cute japanese girls and pretty boys. Didnt take photos, kinda hard to hide a big camera. After looking about for a while we headed to the railway station, one of the famous bits is the Hachiko Exit. As far as I know there were two movies made based on the story, look it up. I think the Japanese version is nicer tho.
A thing that kinda surprises me is that how much advertising money AirAsia had. Can you spot their advertisement in the above photo? It was even on trains and such.
Then we walked to Tokyu Hands a super departmental store for all your DIY needs. Its really huge we spent almost 2hours plus trying to explore it. So many interesting stuff in there.
So these photos below are from our walk back to our hotel from Shibuya. Which was kinda interesting as we got lost. Since non of our smart phones were actually smart as we didn't have data subscription. After a long walk, we finally made it back to our hotel. LOL. Well if I was going alone, I wont mind getting lost for a few hours, since there are so many things to see.
We went back to the hotel and took a quick shower and freshen up and headed out again to find dinner. We took the train this time. We were heading to Harajuku, using the Yamanote line. Cosplay land they say, but since it was not weekend we were not expecting to see any of that.
Ok, I don't speak nor read Japanese. I don't read Chinese which is sometimes used as Kanji by the Japanese. Luckily for me, my cousins had learned a bit of those in school. So basically they were our guide and translator (sort of ) for the trip :) Kids these days, so talented lah.
Actually these places, shops and what not does not interest me at all. I'm not the kind of guy who does a lot of shopping. I don't even buy stuff when I travel. Sure you get to see a lot of stuff there which you dont really see here. But, so? =\ Well at least I can tell people I have been there :D
While waiting for my cousins who went in a store to check out some stuff, I was busy panning cars, bikes and bicycles driving by xD FUN!
Finally reached our hotel in time for a free meal. Free noodle or rice from 9 onwards or was it 8. Hmm..
So we end day one in Tokyo, a lot of shopping malls covered. Saw a lot of nice cars and bikes. A lot of pretty girls and boys. Stoked about the next day.
Wow, manage to finish day one in one posting. Well I skip quite a number of photos which I will upload to facebook.
